Block Line Systems

Block Line Systems - A Subsidiary of Block Communications

Both Buckeye Telesystem, Inc (Telesystem) and Block Line Systems are wholly owned subsidiaries of privately held Block Communications, Inc. (BCI). Telesystem began in 1994 in Toledo, Ohio. In 2014, BCI purchased Line Systems, Inc (LSI), a Philadelphia based communications provider, which was legally renamed Block Line Systems.

The BCI family of media companies includes Buckeye Broadband cable company, The Toledo Blade and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette newspapers, Telesystem, and network television affiliates in IL, OH, and KY. In the same timeframe that Line Systems was acquired, BCI also purchased MaxxSouth, a cable TV provider covering the entire Eastern half of Mississippi. These expansions have provided significant additional growth opportunities for Telesystem and their customers.
